Dawn of a New Day (Copied over from my Myspace)
I thought I would watch the news channels before typing this, and I'm glad I did. there has never been a day where I was excited to see someone win a presidency. there has been my favorites of course (F.D.Roosevelt, Reagan, Clinton), but I was either not born yet or not old enough to vote. I should have voted in the last election, but I did not. But for me, voting yesterday gave me a new sense of pride in knowing that I shared the same thoughts with the majority of Americans realizing that our country needs a change. It will take time, but I am sure that my vote was cast in the right direction.
I caught a little bit of Fox News a few minutes ago, and they were showing celebrations from different countries because of our new President-elect. What happened last night was much bigger than just our country. People are realizing that democracy can make a difference, and people do have a choice.
I have read a few different status messages change today from I hope that America is happy they elected a liberal lunatic to people being afraid for our country. Everyone has their own thoughts, but if you read into Obama's life further, you'll realize that he isn't a slouch. He has written 2 books, both of which received reviews of being an inspiration to people. i was only aware of one book by him until recently. (I'm in the process of reading his latest now). He has always worked hard, and he has a great team that has worked around him for support.
Needless to say, I am proud of this day for our country
